Role Summary

The Network Analyst works on a fast-paced team whose responsibilities include conducting evaluations to determine long term strategic growth plan and fleet requirements at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. The Network Analyst team makes decisions in the development, implementation, and tracking of future flights.

Key Duties

  • In the entry level, the role provides input into capacity planning under the direction of the team leader. As an individual contributor, this role focuses on thorough analysis and providing input to network plan.

  • In the intermediate level, this role is responsible for developing solutions related to the 1-3 year growth plan for the airline. Activities include forecasting new markets, developing hub-specific strategies, and tracking the competitive environment.

  • In the senior level, this role is a subject matter airport in the airline’s capacity development and long-term growth strategy. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in the future network strategy and growth plan of the airline.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required All:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Entry Level - Professional 1

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work under tight deadlines.

Intermediate Level – Professional 2

Required

  • 2 years of experience in analytics, or related area. 

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently under tight deadlines.

  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Good at multi-tasking and able to reprioritize responsibilities as priorities change.

  • Demonstrates the ability and passion to continuously look for ways to improve the Alaska Airlines network and flight schedule.

Senior Level – Professional 3

Required

  • 4 years of experience in analytics, with a preference for a commercial aviation focus or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in aviation management, business, economics, statistics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Expertise and experience in airline fundamentals and economics.

  • Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Expert analytical skills with a deep understanding of analytical processes, including database querying tools and platforms

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work and communicate with all levels of the company, including senior executives.

  • A strategic thinker who can see “the big picture” while understanding the details.

  • A self-starter, with the ability to set priorities consistent with departmental goals and work independently.

Salary Range

$73,400 -- $168,000 / year

Pay Details

Entry level: $73,400 - 102,800

Intermediate level: $90,300 - 135,500

Senior level: $112,000 - 168,000

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
