Role Summary

This role oversees Inflight Training administrative operations by developing and managing structured administrative processes, training policies, and system improvements across all training locations. As a people leader, the Supervisor Inflight Training leads and establishes priorities for the team to enhance training delivery, compliance, and instructor performance.

Key Duties

  • Develop and implement structured administrative workflows, documentation standards, and reporting systems to support training operations.

  • Analyze training data and performance metrics to drive improvements, optimize scheduling, and inform strategic decision-making.

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute training projects to enhance training records, scheduling, Instructor scheduling, consistency, and operational efficiency.

  • Forecast instructor, resource, and facility needs based on flight attendant training requirements/volume.

  • Responsible for the issuance and accuracy of instructor monthly bid, in accordance of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

  • Provide leadership support for daily training administration operations, ensuring alignment with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), CBA, and company policies.

  • Oversee and develop the training record process to ensure training records are accurate and meet regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct internal training record audit to ensure compliance as per the Flight Attendant Training Manual.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Inflight training administration to ensure consistency and compliance.

  • Manage and maintain internal Inflight Training platforms, including the Instructor Hub and Leadership site, to ensure accessibility and up-to-date resources.

  • Manage the scheduling of Check Flight Attendant (CFA) process.

  • Supervise training scheduling specialists to ensure all training scheduling needs are met as per FARs and CBA.

  • Supervise training scheduling specialists, streamline processes, and support implementing future training initiatives.

  • Review and approve daily Company Business requests to ensure alignment with operational needs.

  • Provide support for daily training operations as needed to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the Inflight Training department.

  • Support the operations by assuming the Supervisor Inflight position when the training needs are low or assigned by Inflight management. The Supervisor Inflight oversees the daily operation of Inflight Bases, ensuring performance objectives are met including safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of airline experience leading people or projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Must successfully complete Flight Attendant Initial Training (if not already qualified as an AS Flight Attendant) and maintain certification as a Flight Attendant.

  • Strong interpersonal skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication at all levels in the organization.

  • Ability to communicate in an engaging and motivating manner to audiences of up to 100 people.

  • Ability to lead complex program efforts to completion while managing multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously.

  • Demonstrated track record of effectively leading/working with cross-functional teams, driving meaningful changes, and developing and mentoring others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability and willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.

  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 21.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Been part of a training program development or delivery experience.

  • History as a Flight Attendant.

  • Experience with eLearning software and mobile learning deployment practices.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Review theSIDA Badge Requirementsdocument for a comprehensive overview. If an employee does not qualify for a SIDA badge or has their SIDA badge pulled from them, the employee will be terminated.

Salary Range

$78,000 -- $105,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
