Role Summary
The Principal Loyalty Pgm Currency is the product owner and sole subject matter expert on the Mileage Plan currency and core member benefits. As a senior individual contributor, this role sits on the Mileage Plan leadership team and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to optimize accrual and redemption programs that support the long-term sustainability of Mileage Plan while deepening guest preference for Alaska.
Key Duties
As a subject matter expert in the Mileage Plan, manages the strategic roadmap for Mileage Plan earning, and redemption, including P&L ownership.
Leads development and delivery of senior executive briefings in a manner that builds trust and ensures strategic alignment.
Owns earn/burn engagement and approval of acquisition bonus offers, collaborating with Loyalty Growth, Marketing, Sales, eComm, and other internal and external stakeholders.
Leverages member insights and behaviors to drive meaningful impact to the P&L.
Owns partner award pricing and collaborates with Revenue Management to actively manage Alaska-operated award pricing.
Makes decisions on business requirements for new earn/burn features, managing initiatives through program execution.
Manages pricing and promotions strategy overall program earn/burn as well as for direct sales of miles to members, and mileage transfers to/from partners.
Drives content and pricing strategies for experiential redemption platform.
Defines long-term strategy for and manages Mileage Plan currency based on other general member focused promotions.
Develops and optimizes all member engagement and financial performance reporting, ensuring reporting dashboards accurately distill key insights with clear and concise executive reporting.
Influences targeting and testing strategies to continually improve and optimize program performance.
Collaborates with customer insights, UX, guest experience, operational, and technology teams and key individuals both internally and externally to measure understanding and usage of member earn/burn benefits and overall satisfaction with Mileage Plan to drive improvements.
Applies deep knowledge of the competitive environment both domestically and globally and understands how and where Alaska is positioned to win.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
7 years of experience in loyalty, revenue management, marketing, strategy, finance, business development, or related area.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Understanding of revenue management processes and pricing.
Robust knowledge of loyalty program, cobrand credit cards, and/or partnership structures.
Exceptional analytical background with proven ability to navigate complex datasets.
Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both internal and external constituencies.
Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Airline industry experience.
Experience developing strategic plans.
Passion for loyalty programs, aviation, guest experience, and platform development.
Experience using Excel, Alteryx and/or Tableau.

Salary Range
$109,450- $180,600 / year
Pay Details
Seattle: $120,400 - 180,600
Honolulu: $109,450 - 164,200
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
