Role Summary
The Mobile Technology Specialist is responsible for developing solutions for the mobile technology platforms used in passenger service for Alaska Airlines (AS) and Horizon Air (QX). As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve, develop, and implement adoption strategies, monitors and responds to usage trends, serves as the key point person for strategic questions related to platform use in the operation, and is the primary liaison to the product team representing business and operational needs.
Key Duties
With limited direction, analyze and monitor mobile usage trends to develop/execute mobile platform adoption strategies.
Network with the product development team to communicate operational business needs and influence roadmap prioritization.
Take initiative to evangelize mobile technology platform benefits and use systemwide.
Represent the department to internal business groups and make recommendations on platform operation and value proposition.
Develop policies and procedures associated with respective mobile platforms.
Apply knowledge of the operation and policies and procedures to design solutions to mitigate technology issues.
Develop and maintain outage contingency plans and associated playbooks.
Partner with the training development team to identify new training needs and required updates on existing courseware.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
2 years of experience in policy & procedures programs or equivalent airline operations experience.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
Demonstrated passion for new technology trends, highly comfortable with mobile technology, and able to learn new technology quickly.
Experience in creating, editing and posting written and digital content.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Process and detail-oriented with the ability to:
Interpret, develop, and articulate efficient procedures for frontline functions.
Grasp complex issues and processes and evaluate elements relevant to passenger service functions.
Communicate in a simple, clear, and concise manner.
Identify opportunities for process improvement.
Lead project teams.
Willingness to challenge assumptions and question the validity of established policies and procedures.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under limited supervision.
Ability to understand the needs and attitudes of the customer to develop a change management plan.
Ability and willingness to travel throughout the AS and QX route system.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Strong working knowledge of AS software tools.
Thorough working knowledge of AS policies and procedures.
Technical writing, training, job coaching, or supervisor experience.
Knowledge of project management methodologies and processes.

Salary Range
$78,000 -- $114,600 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
