Role Summary

The Manager Revenue Management - Pricing is responsible for executing on pricing strategy at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As a people leader, this role leads and establishes priorities for the team to meet unit revenue targets for published fares and off-tariff channels that generate over $3B in annual revenue.

Key Duties

  • Leads and establishes priorities for a team of pricing analysts to meet unit revenue targets for published fares and off-tariff channels.

  • Executes on revenue management pricing strategy and provides input into market-specific strategies.

  • Owns and makes decisions related to published and off-tariff pricing activities, as well as branded fare (First Class, Premium Class, Main Cabin and Saver) and award products.

  • Defines and measures complex KPI metrics and aligns goals to drive business process and revenue improvements.

  • Utilizes statistical and analytical databases to advise senior leadership and other stakeholders on business and revenue trends and influence fact-based decisions.

  • Validates and improves pricing strategies and processes, and communicates sound conclusions and recommendations to senior leadership to improve unit revenues.

  • Facilitates cross divisional projects, analysis and research, proactively engaging E-commerce, sales, loyalty, marketing, planning and station partners.

  • Develops people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team and time management.

  • Shapes culture of team through action, presence and reinforcement of behaviors.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 5 years of experience in pricing, revenue management, analytics or related area, preferably in the airline industry.

  • 2 years of leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business administration, economics, statistics, mathematics, industrial engineering or related discipline, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical and analytical modeling.

  • Experience conducting complex analysis and research projects.

  • Ability to effectively and transparently communicate strategies, performance results, and feedback to all levels of the organization.

  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team to ensure goals are met/exceeded.

  • Ability to cut through complexity and ambiguity, prioritize effectively, set clear goals, and operate in an agile fashion.

  • A motivated self-starter, with the ability to work independently and to prioritize assignments effectively across the organization.

  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability to drive measurable results.

  • Excellent communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and able to work with data analysis tools, statistical/reference formulas, and pivot tables.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Advanced ability with Excel and other database programs (e.g., SQL, Access, Business Objects, Alteryx or Tableau).

  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a Master of Arts/Science degree, with a focus in statistics, engineering, operations research, or another quantitative discipline.

Salary Range

$117,850 - $176,800 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
