Role Summary

The Manager Component Repair and Warranty is responsible for leading cross-departmental project teams of specialists in the assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation, selection, and negotiation of terms to meet quality, cost, and performance targets. As a people leader, the Manager of Component Repair and Warranty leads and establishes priorities for the team to ensure the timely repair of Horizon owned parts ensuring the quality standards and budget are met.

Key Duties

  • Lead team and establish priorities of the Component Repair and Warranty Team.

  • Execute on the repair and warranty component strategy to meet the quality, repair turnaround time, performance and cost goals.

  • Partner with the Alaska Supply Chain Management team and Legal team to develop and negotiate repair solutions and contracts using the RFP and RFI processes.

  • Serve as the central point of contact for all component repairs (i.e., between vendors and Maintenance & Engineering team) to ensure the servicing of Horizon Air’s parts is done in accordance with Horizon’s policies that cover part-maintenance, pricing, delivery, warranty, etc.

  • Make decisions related to repair scope and cost approvals.

  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.

  • Shape the culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 5 years of experience in a maintenance, materials, repair, warranty, supply chain, MRO operations focused role (or combination thereof) with practical knowledge in business management practices that include budgeting, cost control and vendor oversight.

  • 2 years of leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • 5 years of negotiating and contract management experience.

  • Aviation experience and knowledge of Airline System Regulations, and FAA policies and procedures as it pertains to aircraft material.

  • Experience processing and managing warranty claims, including cost recovery from suppliers and manufacturers.

  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, AMOS, or TRAX for managing business processes.

  • Familiarity with RFP (Request for Proposal) and RFI (Request for Information) processes for vendor selection.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, illustrated parts catalogs (IPC), aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM) and component maintenance manuals (CMM).

  • Strong performance management and process improvement experience.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to influence cross-divisional endeavors.

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Salary Range

$91,050 -- $136,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
