Role Summary
The On-Call Concierge is responsible for fulfilling the lounge Host and Concierge duties as needed by coordinating the setup of food and beverage stations, maintaining cleanliness and inventory, resolving guest inquiries and assisting with travel arrangements, and serving drinks and meals at Alaska Airlines lounges. As a member of the lounge team, this individual contributor role provides an inviting and comfortable environment for members and guests through individualized interactions that create a hassle-free travel experience.
Key Duties
Provides an inviting and comfortable lounge environment, establishing a personal connection with each guest.
Supervised to deliver responses and resolutions to customer inquiries, assist guests with necessary travel arrangements (e.g. seat assignments, check-in service, reservations), and prioritize member’ needs and requests in a tight time frame.
Prepares and arranges food, beverages, and liquor service for members and guests.
Responsible for restocking self-service food and properly packaging any unused food.
Promotes Alaska Airlines products and services (e.g., membership, day pass, etc.).
Identifies creative solutions to handle unhappy or mishandled passengers.
Processes new lounge member enrollments and renewals.
Follows established procedures to maintain the cleanliness of the lounge.
Cleans and maintains food service equipment (e.g. coffee, soda, juice machines)
Additional Details
Our tattoo policy for this role is the following: No visible tattoos on face, front of neck, or chest. One tattoo the size of a quarter or smaller allowed per hand. Tattoos in other areas cannot be larger than a credit card or offensive. Employees can have one tattoo per arm/leg/foot/back of neck/behind each ear. Tattoos on the back of neck and behind the ears are only permitted if they’re not visible when looking directly at a person. Tattoos may only be covered with a uniform piece or approved jewelry/watch (covering with makeup is not allowed).
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
1 year of experience in guest service, or related area.
Motivated to achieve excellent guest service.
Ability to project a professional image and be approachable with strong social skills.
Articulate and able to effectively communicate with confidence.
Able to multi-task while working under pressure.
Able to make quick, sound decisions in a challenging and varied work environment.
Willingness to serve alcohol.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to bend, squat, stoop, reach and grasp.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Typing speed of at least 25 WPM.
Must be able to obtain State Food Handlers Certification and Alcohol Seller/Server Certification.
Ability to communicate in English.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 21.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Strong marketing, sales, management, or customer service experience.
Computer experience, including familiarity with Image and Solar.
Airline industry experience.
Airport SIDA Badge Requirements
Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Starting Rate
USD $22.94/Hr.
