Role Summary

The Supervisor Supply Ops role oversees the execution of service standards, policies and procedures, and objectives in the Supply Ops location with Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, the supervisor provides direct supervision for Supply Ops leads and agents in the performance of their duties, establishes priorities for the team to ensure operational success as we support the Technical Operations department.

Key Duties

  • Oversee and motivate team to successfully complete operational responsibilities. This includes providing prioritized material support to scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, engineering modifications, shop activities and new station start up; performing regular inventory audits and resolving discrepancies; monitoring out stations for shelf life and providing replacements.

  • Communicate and implement new initiatives, changes to policies and procedures, and share company news.

  • Communicate effectively with employees and ensure compliance with the provisions of the bargaining unit agreement.

  • Evaluate performance, provide feedback and participate in recognition programs.

  • Monitor and offer progressive counseling for improved attendance reliability.

  • Coordinate with necessary internal and external departments, teams, couriers and vendors (e.g. AS Material Control, FedEx, Boeing, etc.) to ensure procured parts and materials are received, shipped, and available at service locations.

  • Uphold company and regulatory safety compliance and develop safety awareness in employees.

  • Responsible for ensuring all agents are compliant to the Safety Management System (SMS) and

  • Hazmat shipping standards.

  • Investigate employee accidents and resolve issues that contributed to the accident.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 3 years of experience in supply ops or a relevant function.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (e.g. nights, weekends, holidays).

  • Effective communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Experience with using an inventory management software platform and inventory control.

  • Knowledge of dangerous goods shipping procedures (IATA & CFR 49) along with experience of handling, storage and shipping Dangerous Goods.

  • Familiar with OSHA/EPA regulations; warehouse experience

  • Familiar with IAM (International Association of Machinists) labor agreements or experience in within with in a bargaining unit environment

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Review theSIDA Badge Requirementsdocument for a comprehensive overview. If an employee does not qualify for a SIDA badge or has their SIDA badge pulled from them, the employee will be terminated.

Salary Range

$86,700 -- $105,600 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
