The Technical Services Specialist is a troubleshooter who assists technicians on the ground to diagnose and solve challenging aircraft Avionics, Systems, and Powerplant issues. As an individual contributor, the Technical Services Specialist provides subject matter expertise by fielding calls and providing onsite support at the aircraft as needed at Alaska Airlines (AS).
Provides technical assistance by collaborating with various M&E departments for aircraft on ground (AOG) or problem aircraft which may include on-site technical assistance as needed.
Monitor maintenance flight logs, aircraft LLM, ETOPS, delay/cancellation reports, TRAX recurrent items, and to identify any technical problems and/or recurrent technical issues.
Initiates corrective action and priority, in coordination with various maintenance departments and line planning.
Evaluate reliability sources, maintenance flight logs, and delay/cancellation reports to identify repeat problems concerning ETOPS significant systems.
Monitor AHM (Aircraft Health Monitoring) and Monitor EHM (Engine Health Monitoring) to issue preventive corrective action.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
2 years of aviation experience troubleshooting aircraft Avionics, Systems, and Powerplant.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant aircraft Avionics, Systems, and Powerplant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Proficient in reading and analyzing engine trending data.
Experience in troubleshooting and developing corrective actions for complex powerplant discrepancies.
Knowledgeable in the use of engine manufacture data systems and technical manuals.
Strong background in powerplant (CFM-56, Leap 1A/B, and APU) with a working knowledge of avionics and systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to work any shift as required.
Travel required approximately (15%).
High school diploma or equivalent, minimum age of 18, authorization to work in the U.S., and current passport.
Experience in 737NG/MAX and A320 aircraft systems and components.
Knowledge of FAA regulations, operating policies, and procedures.
