Role Summary

The Principal Premium Strategy is the sole subject matter expert in the pricing and inventory strategy development, tracking and reporting of our premium products (First Class and Premium Class). As an individual contributor, this role defines the long-term Revenue Management strategy for our premium products and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to build and maintain robust pricing and inventory strategies and reporting to deliver industry leading premium revenues.

Key Duties

  • Defines and execute long-term premium pricing and inventory strategies for our First Class and Premium Class products while liaising with Loyalty, E-commerce, Sales, Marketing and Distribution.

  • Monitors, maintains, and optimizes our dynamic premium upsell strategies. Analyzes market level performance and provides course correction where needed to ensure we hit our budgeted product revenue goals.

  • Responsibility for creation and tracking of KPIs and handling the budget and forecasting of First Class and Premium Class products from the RM lens.

  • Expert understanding and go-to person for the interplay between Pricing, Inventory, Product/Promotional offerings and revenue and financial performance for Alaska Air Group (AAG).

  • Subject matter expert on dashboards and tools, with deep understanding of Alaska’s strategy. Looks ahead to the next 1-3 years for potential new and innovative pricing and inventory opportunities and technology that would support revenue growth.

  • Creates project plans and timelines for premium pricing and inventory projects and leads the project(s) from start to finish. Holds other stakeholders accountable for SLAs and takes initiative to move the business forward.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 7 years of experience in Revenue Management, Revenue Optimization, Operations Research, Forecasting, Analytics, or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Business (or related field), or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Demonstrated expert level experience with Revenue Management tools and systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and capture revenue opportunity.

  • Demonstrated project management experience – driving progress and tracking towards defined objectives.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to create and maintain strong partnerships and influence without direct authority.

  • Ability to present both technical and non-technical content to internal and external stakeholders.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Prior airline experience responsible for product or market performance.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management cross-divisionally.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with increased complexity.

  • 2 years of experience working with data, data modeling, or data analytics.

  • Experience managing vendor relationships.

Salary Range

$112,400 - $174,200 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
