The Principal Lounge Product Manager is the sole subject matter expert for lounge product and program strategy at Alaska Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role defines long-term strategy and exercises considerable latitude and initiative to manage lounge revenue strategy, membership cultivation, capital projects, partnership development, and product experience, and influences near-term and long-term growth of the lounge program.
As the lead subject matter expert in lounge product and programs, oversees matrixed teams of cross-functional stakeholders and establishes strategy to achieve guest satisfaction goals, membership program objectives, oneworld alliance commitments and revenue and cost targets.
Influences across departments, actively engaging with SVP/EVP level leaders to share challenges and solutions, recommendations and seek approval for resources and funding to achieve objectives.
Leverages deep industry knowledge to advance revenue through developing product offerings, sales channels, and marketing strategies.
Grows and engages membership base for lounge portfolio through regular communications, activations and surveys, and develops innovative partnerships to drive non-member volume.
Manages design and construction of new and existing lounges to align with brand objectives, guest needs, and budgets in partnership with architects, general contractors, and Airport Real Estate.
Develops, implements and grows complimentary and retail food and beverage programs through creative partnerships, featuring local products and innovative amenities.
Oversees lounge technology used for checking guests in, processing purchases, and managing memberships.
Sources and negotiates partnerships to broaden network.
Collaborates across companies on the growth of Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air’s network of airline partners, including relationship management and development.
Partners closely with the Director Lounge Program and Lounge Managers to ensure initiatives incorporate operational insight and are effectively implemented.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
7 years of experience in consumer product marketing or product development with a focus on hospitality or related area.
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in marketing, business administration, project management or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Exceptional analytical background with demonstratable modeling experience.
Knowledge of membership-based organizations and airline partnerships.
Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening), with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely to senior leaders.
Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently.
Sense of urgency to complete assignments quickly and thoroughly.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
3 years of experience as a product manager.
2 years of experience in Food and Beverage or other guest-facing hospitality sector.
Professional services experience.
Excel, Alteryx, Tableau experience.
