Role Summary
This role is responsible for executing on the strategy for station day of scheduling, including hiring, productivity, and finance support for operational hub stations at Alaska Airlines (AS). As a people leader, the Manager, Station Scheduling and Finance leads and establishes priorities for the team on control and reporting (e.g., scheduling and staffing programs) and contributes to financial planning and communication strategies for the station.
Key Duties
Lead team of CSA and/or RSA/Fleet schedulers and Leads/Chiefs to establish priorities of control and reporting related to finance, scheduling, medical programs, and staffing in station.
Manage and assign maintenance of productivity reporting/tracking models to enhance business understanding/insights and performance oversight; determine areas for improvement and implement and communicate plans to ensure the station meets all productivity metrics, both above and below wing, and collaborate with the Guest Service and Ground Operations leader(s) within the station to ensure consistent execution.
Make decisions related to local station strategies for employee rostering and day of scheduling, data management, and payroll systems, acting as the subject-matter-expert and liaison between the station and other AS departments and vendors.
Contribute to the long-term strategy and planning for hiring, staffing, ensuring fiscal accountability, and addressing cross-departmental/divisional issues and concerns.
Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team with focus on time management.
Shape culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the annual station budgeting process, ensuring rigorous financial discipline and focus tied to achieving key company goals with integrated productivity and financial metrics.
Cultivate good working relationships with labor representatives within AOCS at the station, partner on addressing concerns, and ensure consistent adherence to the labor agreement, specifically in the areas of staffing and scheduling.
Provide input into the strategy for developing and delivering effective communication to frontline, supervisory staff, and all leadership employees, using multiple channels and strategies to reach a wide audience.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
5 years of experience in finance, business consulting, accounting, or a related field.
2 years of leadership experience.
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, math, accounting, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Experience with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on a strong command of Excel.
Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety, and security compliance.
Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A demonstrated ability to lead with a high-performance culture mindset with a focus on practical solutions and efficiency with a predisposition towards managing outcomes versus explaining variances.
A demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate at all levels of the organization.
Must be a self-starter, willingly take the initiative, accept responsibility, and be comfortable with ambiguity.
The ability to analyze complex data, summarize concisely, and make meaningful and timely recommendations.
Proactive, enthusiastic, and creative demeanor, and a willingness to try new approaches.
Scheduling flexibility and the ability to work after normal business hours and on the weekends.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Strong leadership skills and experience leading large work groups with multiple layers.
Experience working with cross-functional/matrixed organizations.

Salary Range
$113,200 - $169,800 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
