The Manager Network Reliability leads a small team of engineers that play a critical role in sustainment of Alaska Airlines’ and Horizon Air’s enterprise network. As a people leader, this role establishes the team culture to create an inclusive work environment to foster engagement and innovation. This role requires the application of interpersonal skills with the ability to foster and grow business relationships and drive a customer-first focus. Additionally, this role is a technical leader that provides input into technical decisions and sets priorities for the team.
Leads, manages, and develops a team in a fast-paced environment with responsibility for all operational support of the Enterprise network.
Defines, documents, and communicates policies for daily network operations.
Supports the development of the departmental strategic roadmap and works autonomously to deliver on the tactical roadmap.
Manages full life cycle processes for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades.
Coaches and contributes to the continuous process improvement life cycle that drives operational excellence.
Develops programs to measure and track to performance goals, including process performance (ticket handling).
Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
Shape culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Responsible for monitoring and reporting against the Network Operations financial budget.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
5 years of experience in network support and/or network engineering.
2 years of leadership experience.
Demonstrated success implementing and managing large, complex, enterprise-class solutions.
Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Ability to work within a highly critical data center environment with absolute adherence to change control process.
Ability to provide excellent customer support, work with vendors and across teams to meet business objectives.
Results-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Strong knowledge and experience supporting enterprise class switches, routers, wireless and security infrastructure.
Knowledge of configuration and troubleshooting at all layers of the OSI stack.
Familiarity with network automation tools and software engineering processes.

$128,600 - $205,800 / year
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air pay and benefits can vary by company, location, number of regularly scheduled hours worked, length of employment, and employment status.
