Role Summary

The Director Lounge Operations oversees the day-to-day operation of Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines branded lounges across the network. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team of leaders to ensure guest, employee and financial performance goals are achieved. A successful candidate will be passionate about leading strong teams, focused on managing a reliable operation, and obsessed with delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key Duties

  • Establish goals and direction across operations and employee training & culture for team of people leaders across all Alaska and Hawaiian branded locations system wide

  • Develop people leaders through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on fostering strategic and systems thinking, development of talent, and succession planning across teams and disciplines.

  • Establish and lead teams to develop robust training programs to ensure lounge employees are prepared and continuously developed to provide great service.

  • Develop and execute on comprehensive front line employee engagement and communication program that is ongoing to ensure continuous listening and acting on employee feedback. Hold team leaders accountable to ensure high employee engagement.

  • Shape culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors

  • Ensure safe, efficient and top-quality operations of each Lounge.

  • Identify, track, manage and communicate operational KPIs to senior management and the Lounge team.

  • Support Lounge managers in ensuring appropriate levels of staffing.

  • Implement policies and practices to ensure amazing guest satisfaction scores.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 8 years of experience in operations.

  • 5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • At least 2 years of experience with direct accountability and ownership of P&L

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Flexibility to travel to lounge locations on a consistent basis

Preferred

  • Proven experience directly leading large (25+) team of front line workers

  • Proven experience directly leading people leaders

  • Experience leading a lounge or hospitality product either at an airline or within the hospitality industry

Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge. Review theSIDA Badge Requirementsdocument for a comprehensive overview. If an employee does not qualify for a SIDA badge or has their SIDA badge pulled from them, the employee will be terminated.

Salary Range

$122,700 - $196,300 / year

Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)

$142,905 - $227,545

Salary Details

The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
