Role Summary

The Alliances Senior Analyst is a subject matter expert in on-going data, analysis, and reporting for our Alaska Airline’s airline partnership portfolio. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions toward platform growth and provide recommendations to address cost efficiency to drive future aggressive development.

Key Duties

Reporting

  • Develops and maintains dashboards and forecasts providing real-time information on accrual, redemption, and revenue activity with each of Alaska’s Global Partners.

  • Leads the preparation of business reporting in conjunction with Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Loyalty, and Revenue Management (e.g., forecasting, identifying resulting variances, conducting analyses, and formulating recommendations).

  • Maintains partner dashboards and reports in conjunction with stakeholders to provide a holistic view of each partner.

  • Develop reports, PowerPoints, and dashboards on an ad-hoc basis to support the business as assigned.

Analytics

  • Leads analysis of Alaska’s Global Partners, including accrual, redemption, and revenue activity.

  • Manage execution of project- and partner-specific analyses for Alliances program initiatives, including new partner launches, sales initiatives, and historical data analyses to support recommendations.

  • Develop and implement forecasting tools, commercial and operational dashboards leveraged by operational managers, channel/product owners and vendor partners to manage the business.

  • Analyzes data to understand variance and trends concerning revenue and loyalty traffic, and corresponding rates and customer facing value propositions.

Synthesis

  • Supports the growth of Alaska’s network of airline partners and assists in maintaining key relationships with domestic and international airlines.

  • Ensure optimization of codeshare portfolio, including partners and routes, while partnering with Schedule Distribution and Revenue Management along with airline partners.

  • Supports annual budgeting and planning.

  • Makes recommendations and influence various leadership levels across the organization to integrate and align the Alliance viewpoint and strategy into their respective commercial/operational decisions.

  • Creates and presents a wide range of materials to a variety of audiences, including senior management, and partner airline leadership.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 4 years work experience in analytics or related area.

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Exceptional analytical background with demonstrable modeling experience.

  • Knowledge of modeling/forecasting methodology and systems.

  • Proficiency in database querying or business intelligence tools such as Structured Query language (SQL), Alteryx, Tableau.

  • Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely to senior leaders.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • Sense of urgency to complete assignments quickly and thoroughly.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Passion for aviation and travel.

  • Demonstrated ability to have significant impact on products, services, or financial performance with data-driven recommendations.

  • Detail oriented in the delivery of work product and identifying idiosyncrasies in guest-facing experiences or inconsistencies in data sources.

  • Experience tracking and reporting on financial and operational performance of consumer-facing products or services.

  • Proven ability to gather, prep and blend data, then present complex data sets in a compelling and concise format.
