Role Summary

The Principal International Commercial Performance will lead and oversee commercial performance of Alaska Air Group’s international markets. Reporting to the Managing Director, Partnerships & International, this position will help shape how we grow revenue and our international presence. This role will influence and execute strategies across a wide range of products and customers and be responsible for identifying and driving strategic initiatives.

Key Duties

  • In a highly matrixed environment with various commercial leadership teams, develop and implement initiatives related to driving Air Group’s international performance.

  • Develop and manage international market performance initiatives aimed at increasing sales, yield, revenue, and overall performance.

  • Report on the performance of international initiatives, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making and driving efficiency.

  • Build business-partner relationships cross functionally to identify and meet strategic objectives and overcome challenges.

  • Act as the champion for Air Group’s existing international markets with a focus on working cross-functionally with RM, network, partnerships, marketing, distribution and other teams to ensure the success of existing and new markets.

  • Provide input and feedback on pricing strategies, schedule design, selling via indirect and direct channels and other considerations related to the success of our international markets.

  • Provide guidance to team on establishing AAG competitive advantage and offering strategies that satisfy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Drives results faster than competition in new markets/solution areas.

  • Manage annual business planning by determining and tracking key business metrics through the year and driving operational efficiencies across the business.

  • Understand drivers of growth around international market and partners across lines of business and coaches and influences teams to partner with internal teams to accelerate the customer/partner innovative digital transformation. 

  • Partner and collaborate with Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing Operations, Partnerships, Distribution and other key stakeholder groups; influence effectively across all areas and levels of the organization.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 7 years experience in network planning, partnerships, business strategy, or a related field for ensuring flawless execution and operations against strategies

  • Bachelors degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree. Demonstrated ability to influence change and initiate actions that have strategic impact and drive a high-performance culture. 

  • Excellent communicator across all levels within an organization providing clarity to complex concepts and solutions.  

  • Demonstrated significant growth of sales in a region or business unit by driving cross-functional efforts. 

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

  • Demonstrates a collaborative leadership style that motivates staff and encourages peak performance.

  • A self-motivated, personable, organized, and cooperative co-worker; supportive of team efforts and goals.

  • Able to adapt to an ever-changing, dynamic market environment and willing to work in a virtual environment.

  • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and “outside the box”.

  • Able and willing to travel at least 20% of the time to meet with customers and Commercial teams

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Airline Industry experience.

Salary Range

$138,500 - $207,750 / year

Salary Details

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
