Role Summary

The Managing Director of Loyalty & Cobrand leads Air Group’s award-winning Mileage Plan program. This executive role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the loyalty P&L including our multi-billion-dollar credit card portfolio. As a people leader, this position leads a diverse cross-functional team and is expected to exercise considerable autonomy and initiative. A strong outcome orientation with a bias-for-action is a must.

Key Duties

  • Responsible for the strategy, development, and management of Mileage Plan. Key duties include creating and executing strategies that drive member acquisition, retention, and program engagement.

  • Develop and execute against an agreed strategic vision for Air Group’s loyalty program. Lead teams tasked with the design, implementation, and management of the program.

  • Track and deliver to agreed financial metrics. Manage the overall loyalty program budget including responsibility for all marketing spend tied to the program. Ensure compliance with all Bank requirements and internal policies.

  • Identify areas to innovate the loyalty program. Define and implement business plans with clear goals, metrics, and P&L projections.

  • Oversee the development, implementation, and delivery of the Mileage Plan co-brand credit card.

  • Lead execution of the co-brand program including development of products, promotional activities, and marketing efforts.

  • Collaborate with key co-brand partners in a highly productive, collaborative way that maximizes results for Air Group. Build long-term relationships that allow Air Group to compete on a national level.

  • Monitor and report against the performance of the co-brand credit card with a strong data-orientation that emphasizes results.

  • Negotiate terms and agreements with loyalty ecosystem partners. Deeply understand program economics and actively work to deliver outcomes that support the success of Air Group and its partners.

  • Establish and report on metrics that measure overall program performance and effectiveness including member-level contributions, channel strategy success, and partner profitability.

  • Actively engage with the team in a supportive way that supports a high-performance culture.

  • Identify training needs with a focus on ensuring ongoing skills development. Build a pipeline of talent and make personnel changes as required to deliver against organizational goals.

  • Deeply understand the competitive environment. Analyze data and market trends to proactively identify areas of potential improvement and innovation.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 10 years of experience in financial services, consulting, loyalty-related disciplines, partnership management, and/or consumer-facing marketing, or related area.

  • 5 years of people leadership experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or willingness to attain a Bachelor’s degree within six years of start date.

  • High EQ/IQ with an ability to leverage teams and to build internal/external alliances.

  • Forward thinking mindset with a strong bias for action and a high level of motivation.

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams.

  • Strong executive presence with an ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Airline industry experience.

  • Passion for loyalty programs, aviation, guest experience and platform development.

  • Experience using Excel, Alteryx and/or Tableau.

  • Detail oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • Strong communication skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely to both internal and external constituencies.

Salary Range

$188,650 - $311,350 / year

Salary Details

The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
