Role Summary
The Manager, Crew Hotels & Transportation role is responsible for executing on the strategy for Crew Hotel/Transportation Administration at Alaska airlines. As a people leader, the Manager of Crew Hotels and Transportation leads and establishes priorities for the team to successfully contract, assign and process invoices for all Hotel and Transportation partners, adhere to the Flight Crew collective bargaining agreements, as well as strategize and assist flight operations on every level.
Key Duties
Manage Crew Hotel Support Specialists and their responsibilities. Responsible for workload management and the outcomes of the assigned duties.
Leads and executes duties while meeting all Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), safety parameters, and contractual (i.e., collective bargaining agreement (CBA)) requirements.
Leads company strategy for sourcing, evaluation, and selection process for hotel accommodations of crew members at all the airline's destinations to meet its quality, safety, legal and budgetary requirements.
Own and ensure process and tools are in place for managing the Alaska hotel business end to end.
Partners with the airline’s accommodations vendor on sourcing, selections, budgets and hotel contracts.
Responsible for conducting performance reviews for the hotel accommodation’s vendor and employees.
Manage site inspection visits of hotels and ground transportation companies with all the airline's stakeholders to make appropriate recommendations for selection.
Partners with airline's operations team to manage the logistics and automation of crew accommodation and transportation to maximize crew rest periods, safety, and on-time performance.
Responsible for the coordination and oversight of the department’s budgetary requirements and capitalize on any cost-saving opportunities.
Responsible for supporting and operationalizing the long-term strategy and plan for the Alaska hotel business. Be a thought partner.
Owns the day to day/operational relationship with API with support from the Director and Managing Director who drive overall strategy with API.
Responsible for healthy relationships with union partners.
Shape’s culture of team, collaboration with union representatives, and hotel vendors through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
5 years of experience in crew administration, vendor contracts or a related field.
2 years of leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Proven ability to conduct research and to complete financial analyses with minimal support.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Excel and database management experience.
Knowledge of the airline industry.
Working knowledge of Hotel and Transportation flight crew contracts.
Detailed-oriented and highly organized, with ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in contributing to IT projects including requirements writing and testing.
Experience in leading programs, projects, people, or process improvement initiatives.
Ability to engage with and establish credibility with business partners at the most senior/executive level.
Experience working with Labor groups.
Experience working with the Office 365 suite of tools as well as relational databases.
Excellent communication and customer service skills (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).
Professional, reliable, enthusiastic, team spirited, congenial, self-reliant, self-motivated, assertive, leadership abilities.

Salary Range
$113,200 - $169,800 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
