Role Summary
The Director, Supply Chain Management (SCM), IT sets the long-term strategy and oversees the financial performance of all sourcing, contracting, and asset management activities for the IT & E-Commerce categories in Supply Chain Management for Alaska Air Group. As a people leader, this role establishes strategic goals and direction for a team to lead the organization and staff in developing and implementing sourcing management strategies and provide deep category and industry expertise to develop staff, drive strategic initiatives, and impact change across all levels of the organization. The Director effectively develops and proposes metrics to analyze supplier total cost to Alaska Air Group, while establishing and managing collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization (including the Executive leadership team) to drive successful change and improvements in cost, quality and service.
Key Duties
Establishes strategic goals to execute the sourcing process for all major IT & E-Commerce projects, including project assessment, strategy development, supplier evaluation / selection, and negotiation of terms to meet quality, cost and performance targets.
Drive the relationship between Supply Chain and the IT & E-Commerce Executive leadership team and be responsible for internal customer engagement with the sourcing process.
Manages the Asset Controls Function for AAG– Manage software and hardware life cycle, including source selection, vendor oversight and asset acquisition / disposition.
Articulates the company strategy and develop, interpret and implement contracting policy and procedures relating to IT products, services and vendor relationships.
Negotiate key contractual elements with IT service providers to deliver the best value for the company.
Leverage and implement Financial, Cost & Spend Analysis for IT & E-Commerce related categories to provide meaningful and valid comparisons.
Partner across the SCM organization for development and oversight of overall supplier relationships.
Manages operational issues/escalation processes and ensures timely resolution of vendor issues.
Leverages teams Category Management expertise to the relevant stake-holders' teams to optimize overall supply chain performance for affordability, availability, quality and risk.
Drives supply market analysis and oversees information sources and analytical techniques for IT & E-Commerce related categories.
Oversees and manages strategies for complex negotiations and leads the supplier selection process for categories along with the team.
Leads the contract creation process to ensure business and legal needs are incorporated.
Oversees communication strategies for key sourcing initiatives and serves as an advisor to IT & E-Commerce leaders on related projects.
Manages a team of direct reports, with performance management and development responsibilities.
Fosters collaboration, transparency and a results-oriented mindset amongst a wide group of stakeholders.
Promotes a high-performance culture by cultivating and motivating direct/indirect reports through coaching, mentoring, and by providing regular and meaningful feedback.
Forges strong relationships and communicates / consults with a range of stakeholders, including senior management, business development, systems engineering, and external industry groups to define and achieve objectives.
Models and encourages open, honest, and direct communications and encourages open debate to get optimal solutions.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
8 years of experience in Sourcing, Contract management., project management, or relevant area.
5 years of leadership experience, with at least 2 of those years directly leading people.
Bachelor’s Degree, in Business Administration, Supply Chain or Information Technology or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Demonstrated use of a strategic sourcing process including Request for Proposal (RFP) writing and management.
Ability to draft contract language, negotiate and establish commercial intent within agreements.
Experience in negotiating high value contracts required, specifically software license agreements.
Experience working with IT service providers.
Proficient in presentation skills, including oral and written communication.
Proficient in MS Office programs.
Experience with financial analysis of complex vendor proposals.
Experience in all aspects of vendor management and oversight.
Demonstrated ability to build influence across departments around company strategies.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excels in leading teams, facilitating meetings, and developing and providing presentations.
Proven track record of sustaining strong customer/supplier relationships.
Excels at Change Management and challenging the status quo.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
5 years of experience in negotiating and contract management.
Advanced degree or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification.
Strong project management and presentation skills.
Strong experience in performance management and process improvement.

Salary Range
$167,050 - $258,950 / year
Total Target Compensation Range (incl. bonus & equity)
$218,966 - $333,436
Salary Details
The pay range and total target compensation package listed above is the expected pay offered for this position at the start of employment. Your pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, your relevant experience/level, experience level, and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
