Role Summary
The Cargo Technology Specialist works on a fast-paced, high-exposure team whose responsibilities include developing cargo technology solutions at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines. As an individual contributor, this role makes recommendations to improve system administration, systems testing, system & processes improvement, station support and systems solutioning for design and delivery.
Key Duties
Applies knowledge of cargo processes to coordinate and support the maintenance of all systems and software applications, including iCargo, Salesforce.
Manages projects to develop and implement new equipment and systems while supporting equipment and system enhancements to ensure a smooth transfer to cargo areas of support.
Supports agents in all cargo locations including facilitation of questions and queries.
Determines an effective approach for troubleshooting connectivity, technical issues or equipment failures for the frontline.
Makes recommendations on internal and external business opportunities requiring technical implementation.
Identifies opportunities to improve the customer and agent experience while reducing operating costs through feedback collection, option evaluation, and determination of next steps.
Manages user acceptance testing, cargo testing strategy, test case creation and training for all enhancements to third party software.
Owns communication to appropriate parties regarding system issues, enhancements, and changes to cargo equipment and applications.
Make recommendations on policies and procedures.
Develops processes for the execution of new projects.
Ensures compliance with all applicable company, contractual, federal, state and local regulations.
Builds and supports relationships across the company, and with cargo vendors including representing the cargo division at meetings related to projects, applications, and software.
Provides in-station support as needed.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
2 years of experience in cargo operations or a related area.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Strong effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Strong knowledge of cargo systems and applications including iCargo and Salesforce.
Process improvement skills and experience.
Knowledge of project management processes and methodology.
Ability to work cross-divisionally to drive the implementation of new products or changes.

Salary Range
$74,400 -- $111,600 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
