Role Summary

The Supervisor of Maintenance Stores Operations oversees the execution of service standards, policies and procedures, and objectives of Horizon Air that pertain to tooling and material control. As a people leader, this role provides direct supervision for Stores employees in the performance of their duties and establishes priorities for the team to ensure operational success in support of the Maintenance and Engineering (M&E) department.

Key Duties

  • Oversee and support the stores team, including Material / Tooling Clerks, Receiving Inspectors and AOG Expediters in successfully completing daily duties and operational responsibilities. This includes providing prioritized material support to scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance, performing regular inventory audits and resolving discrepancies.

  • Ensure the daily operation of the shipping department, to include RO initiation procedures, proper packaging, compliance with priorities, and accurate record keeping of all shipments.

  • Monitor and ensure daily restock of stock stations are completed accurately and in a timely fashion.

  • Analyze and assess safety risks within the maintenance and engineering organization using the SMS policies and procedures as outlined in the Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air SMS manual and the GPM.

  • Support the divisional SMS liaison with development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the SMS in relation to their responsibilities within the organization.

  • Communicate and implement new initiatives, changes to policies and procedures, and share company news.

  • Develop people through performance management to include coaching, ongoing feedback, and opportunities for growth. Embrace a culture of recognition and participate in recognition programs.

  • Influence culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors that align with our company values.

  • Investigate employee incidents and resolve issues that contributed to the incident; advise Manager Maintenance Stores of any issues or incidents that cannot be solved by normal procedures.

  • Uphold company and regulatory safety compliance and develop safety awareness in employees.

  • Ensure all employees are compliant with training.

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills

Required

  • 3 years of airline/aviation operations, customer service or warehouse experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of experience in lieu of this degree.

  • Able to work non-standard hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Able to travel (up to 20%) outside of the Portland area.

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum age of 18.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred

  • Working knowledge of the Horizon Air GPM (General Procedures Manual) and applicable by FARs.

  • Warehouse, Logistics, Supply Chain or Inventory Control experience.
