Role Summary
The Manager Hangar Maintenance (MTX) and Outstations provides guidance for daily and long-range line maintenance operational requirements and ensures compliance with all governing Federal, local, and Horizon Air (QX) regulations affecting operations at assigned hanger, stations, and outstations. This leadership role manages line maintenance activities for Horizon Air. This role forecasts and budgets operational needs and personnel requirements.
Key Duties
Provide guidance for daily and long-range line maintenance operational requirements and ensure compliance with all governing Federal, local, and regulations affecting operations at assigned hanger, stations and outstations.
Provide technical direction and assume technical responsibility for maintenance work accomplished by mechanics or by outside agencies/vendors.
Forecast and budget operational needs and personnel requirements.
Evaluate processes, procedures, and equipment changes.
Create clear channels of communication to ensure all staff is well informed about departmental and company issues and decisions.
Provide leadership and direction to ensure high standards of performance are maintained in the areas of safety, cost, quality, and labor relations.
Establish and implement policies and procedures to ensure continued improvement.
Ensure adherence to the current union contract, company/department policy, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Determine work priorities and ensure timely accomplishment of all maintenance functions.
Review and evaluate employee performance.
Provide a safe work environment and ensure safety rules and regulations are enforced and develop safety awareness in all assigned personnel.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
Minimum of 5 years commercial airline experience.
Minimum of 2 years in a people leadership position, preferably at a commercial airline.
Bachelor’s degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Mechanic Certificate, with airframe and powerplant ratings for a minimum of 7 years.
Meet the recent experience requirements of 14 CFR 65.83 (i.e., 6 months of experience in the last 24 months).
Full understanding of the company manuals required by 14 CFR 121.133.
Full understanding of all appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements of 14 CFR (e.g., parts 1,21,25,43,45,47,65,91,119 and 121).
Extensive experience in budgeting, aircraft reliability, and production.
Strong track record effectively managing teams and experience developing and mentoring employees through engagement.
Flexibility to travel (approximately 30% to 50%of the time). Excellent interpersonal and communication (e.g., verbal, written, and listening) skills.
Travel between Paine Field (PAE) and Sea-Tac Airport (SEA) consistently will be required.
Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task and work independently with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
A valid passport with the ability to enter/exit Canada & Mexico.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Line maintenance experience on Embraer E175 or similar aircraft.
Knowledge of the AMFA CBA for Horizon Air Technicians and Related Employees.
Labor Relations experience.

Salary Range
$118,700 - $178,100 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
