Program Summary
The Maintenance Technician Development Program is geared towards individuals who want to gain the skills needed to receive their Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) licenses. The program offers training, mentorship, and a defined path to starting a career with Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines. If accepted into the program, the individual signs an agreement to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for a minimum of 30 months after receiving their A&P licenses and starting at Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines.
Key Duties
Maintain in good standing with approved A&P school
Attend quarterly check-ins with assigned mentor/leader
Maintain good communication with the company on curriculum progress
Attend program specific meetings as scheduled
Commit to work for Horizon Air/Alaska Airlines for 2.5 years post program completion and sign an agreement confirming this requirement
Program Specific Experience, Education and Skills
Required:
Apply to Technician Development Program
Valid passport allowing unrestricted travel to and from the U.S. at the time you apply.
Valid driver’s license
Ability to consistently lift 70 pounds
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
Ability to work a variety of schedules to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
Ability to communicate in English
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum age of 18
Authorization to work in the U.S.
